KAYLIN INSPIRES

"I don't want to be famous, I just want to make a difference in people's lives."

Kaylin Jean-Louis is a 17-year-old senior and dual-enrolled Honor Student, Youth Caregiver Advocate, Motivational Speaker, Philanthropist, and Power Teen. Born one month early at 5lbs 3oz, with her entrance into the world, it was known that her birth was filled with purpose and she'd make a powerful mark on this earth. After her birth, the midwife who delivered her looked at her parents and said, "you all must be some praying people." She held up the umbilical cord and showed them the knot that was in the cord and said, "usually, when we see this type of thing, the baby doesn't make it because the knot in the cord cuts off the oxygen to the baby. I don't know how she did it, but somehow she got through this." Her parents understood that it was all God. She is, indeed, a miracle. From the moment that she began talking until now, Kaylin has always had something to say. Today, she's using her voice to inspire and motivate others, especially youth, to care, to be kind, to love, to have compassion, to dream, and to be best the best version of themselves they can be.

Kaylin is very active in her local church ministry, school, and community. She serves faithfully at her church, Life Changers Church of God in Christ, Inc., where she serves as Youth President and on the media team. She attends Florida State University Schools and served two terms as the Chapter President of the Future Business Leaders of America Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL). She is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Theta Alpha Honor Society, Delta Tau Chapter of the National English Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). She received the CollegBoard National African American Recognition Program 2022-2023 Scholar Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement. She is a member of the Junior League of Tallahassee and is a Youth Advisory Board Member of the DRMI Geeks & Gramps Program. She was also recently selected to serve on the Tallahassee Police Department’s first Youth Citizen’s Advisory Council.

In February 2021, she started the KCK Youth Care Too! Movement to recognize, honor, and celebrate youth, ages 8-18, who are serving as caregivers for sick or disabled parents, siblings, aging relatives, or loved ones. Through the KCK YCT Movement, Kaylin is now leading efforts to advocate for youth caregivers by bringing greater awareness and education relating to youth caregiver needs.
