Homelessness across our nation continues to rise at an alarming rate. Right here in our community in Tallahassee, Florida, on just about every major street you go down, you can spot a homeless person. In my effort to be a part of the solution to this problem, I hosted a 'Backpack for the Homeless Service' Day as a part of my birthday celebration weekend last year. We filled 100 backpacks with necessities and touched every side of our city (north, south, east, and west). The goal was to impact 100 homeless lives in one day. Thanks to community partners, sponsors, and volunteers, we were able to reach our goal. No, we weren't able to give them homes but we were able to show them that we care and let them know we have their backs. This year, WE did it again, and had an even greater impact! Thank you to every sponsor, donor, and volunteer who konnnected and gave and/or came out to support the cause!
