Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is very personal to me as I get to see (and experience) its effect on my family every single day. My mom and I are the full-time caregivers for my 81-year-old grandmother who lives with Alzheimer's. This year's walk is also more personal to me because my great-grandmother, who lived with us and we also cared for, passed away on January 29, 2022, from the disease. This year, we walk in her honor, as well as that of two of my great-aunts (Lillian and Vivian) who also passed away within the last three years from the disease.

As a youth caregiver, I know the joys and challenges that come along with caring for someone with Alzheimer's. It's no easy task but it is doable. I'm on a mission to help bring greater awareness and education to other youth about Alzheimer's disease and to recruit other youth to join me in walking for the cause.

This year's walk will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2 pm, at Cascades Park. Would you join forces with us by registering as a participant for the 2023 Tallahassee Walk to End Alzheimer's and/or by making a donation? With your help, we can #ENDALZ!  Thank you!
